Emily Clark, President 2009-2010
Junior League of Eugene Oregon
Welcome to Junior League of Eugene (JLE) on the Web. As JLE’s 2009-2010 President, I’m pleased that you have chosen to visit our site and I’m excited to share with you all that JLE has to offer.
The reason why I continue with my fourth year of volunteering with JLE is because League excels in three vital areas: seeing the need; giving to the community; being the solution. JLE’s community service focus area is on the foster children of Lane County. Please delve into our links to read about our proud accomplishments with A Caring Place, our foster-care respite center, and A Caring Response, a series of events dedicated to enriching the lives of foster children throughout the year.
Of course, JLE’s projects would not be successful without the financial support from individuals and businesses that believe in our mission and support our efforts to positively improve the lives of thousands of Lane County foster children. Our 2009-2010 year is particularly meaningful as we launch the first annual Run Eugene Run in June at Alton Baker Park, where we hope to bring our community outdoors in support of our projects. In February 2010, we will be celebrating our Third Annual Eugene-Springfield’s Most Eligible fundraiser (which was a huge success last year). Additionally, “must haves” for personal cooking collections are our award-winning A Taste of Oregon cookbook and our 2002 Cooking from the Coast to the Cascades, which are both offered on our website. Not to be forgotten are the dedicated supporters and contributors to our successful Annual Campaign whom we greatly appreciate!
We are an active membership of approximately fifty women this year. We are accepting new member applications. Within this site, you will find a link to our membership requirements, a new member admission form, and our placement brochure.
Whether you choose to become a member, donate to our mission, attend one of our events, or choose to support the Junior League of Eugene in any other way, you can be assured that by doing so, you are actively promoting volunteerism, helping to develop the potential of women, and directly improving our local community.
Thank you for visiting us. If you have questions, please contact us via email at info@jleugene.org. I hope you find our website useful and that it will motivate you to join, contribute, or want to learn more about JLE and our strides to support the foster families of Lane County in 2009-10.
